DNP Project Survey on FNP and PMHNP Providers and Geriatric Depression
Attention: Southern Arizona Advance Practice Registered Nurse
My name is Andrea Craighead, and I am a PMHNP student at the University of Arizona. I am currently working on my DNP project titled: A Descriptive Survey of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses’ Preparedness for Treating Geriatric Depression. As part of my DNP project, I am describing family nurse practitioners (FNP) and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNP) self-reported competence, confidence, experience, and training in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of geriatric depression in the outpatient setting. The results of this study will help guide providers and educators to implement changes, such as geriatric specialty training, to address any gaps in clinical knowledge and practice regarding the complex and growing needs of this population.
Please consider participating if you fulfill the following criteria:
- Licensed FNP or PMHNP in the state of Arizona (in good standing).
- Are currently employed in an outpatient clinical setting.
By starting the survey, you acknowledge that you have read the attached disclosure form and agree to participate in this research survey. The survey is anonymous and no private information will be collected. You are free to withdraw your participation at any time without penalty, and you do not have to provide answers for all questions.
Please complete the survey by October 30, 2017.
An Institutional Review Board responsible for human subjects’ research at The University of Arizona reviewed this research project and found it to be acceptable, according to applicable state and federal regulations and University policies designed to protect the rights and welfare of participants in research.
The survey includes 25 questions, and should take no more than 15 minutes of your time.
