HEALTH CARE WORKER ASSAULT PREVENTION BILL NEEDS HELP ASAP

The Health Care Worker Assault Bill is being heard in the House Judiciary Committee Friday, 2/21/20. This offers an important deterrent to violence against healthcare workers in the workplace by changing the criminal classification of an assault which results in injury to the worker.  It must pass out of the committee or it will die. Please take a minute and go to the Arizona State Legislature's Request to Speak (RTS) and log your support for this HB 2538. When you click on the link, follow these steps:

- Sign on: will have you sign in if you have an account or create an account

- Go to "Request to Speak"

- Select "New Request"

- Search under "House" , 2020 - Fifty-fourth Legislative session, Judiciary Committee and HB2538

- You can then note your support with a  and specify if you will or won't be present to actually speak. 

Once you are registered in the RTS, you can return anytime to view the status of bills and post comments and note your support or opposition as the case may be.

Good news. HB2583 was passed by the Judiciary Committee in the AZ State Legislature. The report is pending so I'm not sure where it goes from here. Will keep you posted.
