Southern Arizona Advanced Practice Nurse - Nurse Practitioner Society

Invitation to Participate

Posted about 4 years ago by Conrad Cordova

Dear Southern Arizona Advanced Practice Nurse-Nurse Practitioner Society members,

My name is Amy Butalla-Rosene and I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student at the University of Arizona. For my final DNP project, I am conducting a study to determine if education on acute sinusitis clinical practice guidelines can influence nurse practitioners’ intent to prescribe antibiotics.

If you choose to take part in this project, you will be asked to complete an online educational intervention and a post-test survey. All of the educational material will be available online. You will have an unlimited amount of time to review all education and you will have the option to print some of the materials for use in practice. The post-test survey will be completed after you have completed reviewing the educational material. The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

To be eligible to participate, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You are currently licensed to practice as an NP in the state of Arizona

  • At any point in the last 12 months, you have provided medical care to an adult presenting with signs and symptoms of acute rhinosinusitis

Each survey is completely confidential. The data obtained from each survey is not linked to your email and your privacy will be maintained throughout the data collection process. The institutional review board at the University of Arizona has approved this research project and deemed it compliant with the university, state, and federal regulations that protect the rights and privacy of human subjects participating in research.
