Please reach out to your Arizona Representatives.

Dear Arizona AANP Member,
Now is the time to act! On Monday, March 4, the Arizona House Committee on Health and Human Services (HHS) is scheduled to consider the problematic APRN Compact in Senate Bill 1295. The outcome of this hearing could prevent this legislation from advancing further in 2024.
Legislators are listening! More Senators this session voted “no” on compact legislation compared to last year. Arizona lawmakers are responding to the tremendous outpouring of concerns shared by nurse practitioners (NPs) like you and the advanced practice registered nurses (APRN) community on this version of a proposed compact.
Speak out! There are just a few days before the House Committee meets on Monday. It is critical that the Committee hear from Arizona NPs before voting on this bill. Join us by using the link below to ask House Committee Members not to advance this version.

NPs Making Progress: This year, AANP is seeing Arizona lawmakers working together with the nursing community to pursue constructive policy solutions such as House Bill 2494, that would bring expedited licensure to the Board of Nursing that can immediately help alleviate workforce recruitment challenges for the state while issues with a compact are being addressed. The same Arizona House HHS Committee Members voted 9-1 to advance expedited licensure for Arizona! Ask your committee representatives to stand with nursing once again by holding off on advancing this unpopular compact bill at this time.
The American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP), along with other national and state nursing associations—including the Arizona Nurses Association (AZNA) – are calling on lawmakers to give nursing the time we need to get an APRN Compact right before getting it started. Learn more about the serious concerns of the APRN community with this compact.
Stay tuned: AANP will continue to provide more updates and opportunities to get involved as the session progresses.
